Warwick Thumb
£1,399.00
The German Pro-Series basses offer serious value for money and we specified this one in the ‘time honoured’ natural Ovangkol finish.
The Thumb shape has always divided opinion but there’s no doubting that, with its compact curved body, its a winner in terms of playing comfort and ergonomics. We love it (and so did Jack Bruce who made the fretless thumb famous!) The neck is slim and a delight to play and the MEC electronics, coupled to the combination of Ebony & Ovangkol deliver up tones which are ‘darker’ than basses with more typical wood combinations such as maple & ash.
There are quite a few different tones on offer, all of which are delivered with bell-like clarity and which cut through a band mix very clearly. Most manufacturers of bass guitars claim that their basses have distinctive looks and tones. Warwick basses are actually one of the few brands that do look and sound quite different from ‘the pack’ and for that we applaud them.
