Those very clever people of Tech 21 in New York have introduced the brand new VTB 500 Bass modelling Amp featuring an all-analog SansAmp preamp and Class D power amp. It offers the same Proprietory Technology as the SansAmp ‘Character Series’ VT Bass DI pedal. The unique ‘Character’ control sweeps through decades of some of the most distinctive bass amp tones on the planet. The ‘Drive’ control adjusts the overall amount of gain and overdrive. The ‘Blend’ control blends direct instrument signal with the SansAmp Tube Amplifier Emulation Circuitry. The ‘Bite’ switch activates a presence boost which , very usefully, tightens up the sound when you are running distorted settings enabling you to be distorted without sounding ‘mushy’.
Like the brilliant range of SansAmp Bass FX pedals this amp is easy to use, very versatile and just delivers some great tones. The owners Manual includes numerous sample settings including ‘Flip Top’, ‘SVT Style’, Thumpy Funk’, ‘Yes style’, ‘Wetton/Crimson’, ‘Rush style’ (that’ll be Geddy!), Fat Tube’ and so on… A gig bag and rack mounting kit are available to separate order.
