Rock ‘n Roll… cool vibe or what?. The ‘Forty Eiight’ is Sandbergs new model and not only is this the first 5 string to be built but its the first ‘Forty Eight’ of any kind to arrive in the UK. Remind anyone of the livery normally seen on American muscle cars… AC Cobra maybe?
Whilst the aged chrome pickup covers suggest that 2 humbuckers are at play here thats not the case. The neck pickup is infact a split-coil ‘P’ style pickup which adds a little more versatility and tonal choice. As usual, Sandberg give you the option to by-pass the preamp and run the bass in passive mode.
If relic’d basses ain’t your thing,the ‘Forty Eight’ is available to order in a variety of matt (ash) body finishes or the usual wide choice of rarewood tops on a Mahogany body core. Headstocks can be plain maple or matched to the body. We have a Black hardcore aged 4 string ‘Forty Eight’ on order and its available to pre-purchase now by way of a 15% deposit.
