OK, Sandberg are enjoying their 30th Anniversary this year so they’re now so established that we no longer need to deliver the usual patter about them being the best value handbuilt basses around, that they have sublime necks and deliver top notch active and passive tones etc. etc….. so we won’t!
The VT variant of the ever-popular California series basses sports the much-favoured P/J pickup combination of a single split coil pickup at the neck and a single coil pickup at the bridge. The bass can be run in passive mode even without a battery so it offers a ‘get out of jail card’ if your battery dies while gigging… it does happen!
These California basses offer an evolved and intelligent update on the classic basses… smaller/lighter bodies and headstocks, higher quality electronics that deliver a wider tonal palette, better neck to body connection and modern hi-mass custom bridge for better sustain and stability.
