Sandberg California II VM4 ‘Nighthawk’
£1,265.00
The California II models have a smaller, re-designed body shape and slimmer headstock yet still retain the visual essence of a ‘classic’ bass. The ‘Nighthawk’ is the ‘Stealth Bomber’ model in all-black with brushed aluminium pickguard. It boasts its own uniquely voiced pickups which deliver the extra mid-range attack that rock players like so much… remember, its the mid-frequencies that punch through the mix and get you heard!
As with all active Sandberg basses, there is a preamp bypass facility to allow you to play in passive mode. These basses represent superb value for money considering that they are handbuilt in relatively small numbers. The necks are sublime and each one varies slightly given that they are hand-finished by guys who are bass players themselves.
Sandberg are 30 years old in 2016 and their basses just get better and better!
(List price £1514).
