The list price new for this bass was £899 (£799 for the 4 string) and, at that price, it was pretty much the best playing, clearest sounding and smartest looking 5 string on the market… until a couple of dealers (so we understand) got hold of a supply of ‘seconds’ out of the ‘back door’ of the factory in Korea and put them up for sale at such a low price that the brand was disrespected and devalued.
The Elites, with their solid rarewood tops, were the top of the range Aspiration models and gave the player a bloody good insight into what it was like to play a full-blown Custom Overwater bass from Carlisle!
Designed by Overwater, built by Tanglewood, these basses embody some 35 years of bass building expertise and passion. You simply will not find a more refined modern active 5 string at this price
