G&L Tribute L-2500
£549.00
Have we mentioned that G&L basses were designed by Leo Fender? Not a lot of people know that it seems. G&L instruments were the third and final part of Leo’s legacy, evolving and building upon what he created with Fender and Music Man. He described G&L instruments as the best he ever made.
These Tribute Series basses deliver power, versatility and quite amazing value for money. Whilst they are assembled and finished in Indonesia, all the hardware and electronics is made in the USA and is identical to the kit used on the USA Custom models built in Fullerton, California which are roughly three times the cost!
These M-series Tributes feature a studio quality, ultra-quiet 18v preamp that, coupled with the M-spec pickups, provide a different voicing to the L-series Tributes. This is an all-active bass wih no pre-amp override option. It also utilises what is probably the best modern bass bridge in the business. The string addles can be nipped together by simply turning an Allen screw resulting in noticeably increased resonance and sustain. Back the screw off and the string saddles work independently much like they do on a vintage bass bridge resulting in less sustain and a slightly more vintage tone.
