G&L Tribute JB-2
£395.00
These G&L Tribute models represent brilliant value for money and utilise the same USA made hardware and pickups as their USA Custom shop counterparts.
Notwithstanding that this is a passive bass it delivers bags more ‘oomph’ than his earlier models but without compromising on tonal detail and finesse. There’s a lot of ‘Jazz’ DNA embodied in this bass from the pickup and controls configuration to the neck profile and dimensions. Nut width is 38mm/1.5″ with a slim ‘C’ shape neck. Fingerboard radius is a more modern 12″.
Swamp Ash is our fave looking and sounding tonewood and is getting ever more expensive to buy in its raw state. Many custom bass builders charge a substantial premium for swamp ash over, say, alder which makes this bass exceptional value for money. Leo said of his G&L instruments… ‘they are the best instruments we ever made’. Who are we to argue?
