Gibson Midtown Standard
£730.00
Gibson have re-drawn the Blueprint for the semi-hollow bass with the Midtown. With echoes of the great semi-acoustic EB basses of the past and following the popularity of the ES-335 Guitar, the Midtown bass is built from routed solid wood rather than having a laminated top, sides and back - the result is sonic solidity, punch, sustain and resistance to the feedback that dogged semi-acoustic basses.
A mix & match pair of Gibson humbucking pickups give the Midtown very good tonal flexibilty. It delivers thunderous lows with warmth and clarity but is also more articulate through the other frequencies than its predecessors…less ‘nasal’ if you like. Use it for pretty much any conceivable style of popular music.
Hand-sprayed nitro-cellulose finish. PLEK cut Corian nut.
