The Jaguar bass seems like its been around forever - it hasn’t. Fender obviously spotted a gap in their bass range and the Jaguar Bass was introduced in 2006 to critical acclaim.
We’re looking at Jaguar guitar meets Jazz bass here. The neck is pure Jazz and we have twin single coil ‘J’ style pickups. These ‘made in Japan’ models are no longer built but, as expected, the quality of fit and finish is excellent… they’ve even tinted the neck to reinforce the vintage vibe. The bridge has been upgraded but the standard Fender bridge is offered here as well.
We like the Jaguar a lot. Its quite simply the most exciting bass in Fenders line up with a wide range of active and passive tones. The active tones especially are huge but without ever being overly-dominated by preamp.
Who says that you can’t stand out from the crowd with a Fender round your neck?
