As part of the philosophy of the Great British Bass Lounge to promote UK built instruments and give customers a real life opportunity to both experience and compare instruments from many UK luthiers we now have our first offering from Eve Bass, the Iona 5 string

Douglas Mullen operates Eve Guitars from his workshop in the East Coast of Scotland, UK, to produce guitars that have the look and quality lost in the mass produced product available today. All materials are individually selected and inspected for quality by hand, and only one person starts and finishes the instrument to completion. There are no computer controlled machines - every instrument is truly hand crafted, and is as individual as you are.

This Iona 5 string version demonstrates the designers ability to think beyond “standard” and then take those thoughts and turn them into something truly beautiful to look at and exquisite to play.

Sound is driven from a variety of pickups with an array of control to ensure whatever your tonal need it can be met with this bass. All the pickups and electrics are Eve’s own design; the bridge pickup is an Eve Soapbar with Volume and push/pull to switch the pickup wiring. The neck is an Eve Jazz style with push/ pull for active passive modes, easy and straightforward.

Unique in the lounge is the ABM advanced adjustable Bell Brass Nut which ensures consistency of tone between open and fretted notes.

There is no lack of tone from the carefully selected timbers that make up this bass, the American Ash bady with solid Wenge block inlay is complemented by a quarter sawn 3 piece Sapele neck with Wenge fingerboard.

Little touches like the hand signed truss rod cover just add to the exclusivity of owning a Bass from Eve
