‘Artisan’ is the reference Cort bass model (available in 4, 5 and 6 string versions) designed and built for the working musician who requires excellent performance and reliability gig after gig.
The combination of tonewoods is selected to provide a balanced tonal delivery from the warm low-mid emphasis of mahogany to the punch and clarity provided by the neck woods and the figured maple top. The neck-through construction and thro-body stringing deliver added punch and sustain. These basses deliver an organic, piano-like tone courtesy of the Bartolini preamp which, when engaged, provided powerful yet transparent boost with crisp highs. Black TUSQ XL nut and strung with D’Addario nickels 032-130 gauge.
These are beautifully set up, easy playing basses at… well, a pretty amazing price point given the plethora of high-end features on offer.
