Clover claim that their H-Edition basses ‘offer a unique and wide range of traditional tones’.
It’s certainly a very nice, easy bass to play and the build quality and careful attention to detail are apparent. In essence we have ‘a modern performer in a classic garment’… in other words a modern package in an upgraded jazz bass format. It’s actually a rather versatile instrument which is capable of delivering growling ’60s tones to more modern brighter, beefier sounds. For a handbuilt 5 string at this price it represents very good value for money.
The gold sparkle finish is, we think, rather splendid and something different. It’s a custom colour and was therefore a cost upgrade.
