Alpher Instruments Mako Custom
£2,150.00 £1,975.00
Another stunner from Chris & Alex…we’ve waited a while for this one!. Distinctive Mako (a species of shark) architecture that has quickly become the Alpher calling card… these basses are now being ordered and played by Rock Stars! and most go straight out of the UK.
This is an opportunity to acquire one without a substantial wait and exactly the same price as going direct. We specified a number of upgrades to this bass including wood control knobs, pickguard and ebony fingerboard. The vintage frets work brilliantly… more wood in the tone, less metal.
It’s also the first bass we’ve had that uses Aguilar pickups and preamp and they are a revelation in terms of their clarity, power and wide tonal delivery. These basses are built in Saltaire, West Yorkshire with obsessive attention to design and detail. Quite simply… brilliant… and still great value for money even at this price!
