In the 70’s it was virtually impossible to find a hit record or famous guitarist that didn’t have an MXR pedal associated with them. Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, the Rolling Stones and many others ‘stomped’ on brightly coloured MXR boxes to power their classic tunes. As the 80’s arrived, styles changed and what had been cool was suddenly out of fashion. MXR was languishing but Jim Dunlop recognized the legacy that MXR had built and saw the onward potential for this legendary brand.

MXR pedals are analog units and deliver up warmth and character that clean Digital electronics simply cannot do. With the advent of the Seattle movement, analog effects came back off the shelf. All those bands were resurrecting and reimagining tones that Jimmy Page and the Stones were getting back in the 60’s and 70’s. Once these pedals came back, they never went away.

MXR pedals are still made in California, USA and there is now a range of 10 pedals designed specifically for use with Bass Guitar.

…the G&L L1500 (USA).

The single pickup L-1500 has never been imported into the UK - a bit odd given the ongoing popularity of the Musicman Stingray which was also designed by Leo Fender.

We’re offering this USA Custom Shop L-1500 at around half its list price. Its an ex-demo bass in mint condition and comes with G&L deluxe hardcase and certificate signed by Leo’s wife Phyllis

We’ve been getting a steady ‘drip’ of enquiries about Ned Steinberger designed instruments and modern electric upright basses in particular

As from mid-July we will be offering the NS Design WAV4 Radius Bass and the NS Design NXT series electric upright bass. In the interim, please feel free to contact us for further information.

The weakness of the Euro against the Pound effectively means that Sandberg prices have come down in the UK and we’ve responded accordingly.

Most of our Sandbergs in stock have a higher specification than the ‘starting spec’. For example, rarewood tops, swamp ash bodies, fretboard inlay blocks/dots and ebony fretboards all represent significant cost upgrades so please bear this in mind if price-checking us against other dealers and make sure that you are comparing like-for-like specs.
